The Belay Master is a dedicated belay karabiner designed to be about as safe as possible when in use. After the belay device and rope are fed in, the locking clip serves a dual purpose; it can only close when the screw barrel is properly secure, and it prevents the krab rotating around the belay loop, keeping the spine in its strongest orientation and making it impossible to cross-load.
