Ian Parnell has re-imagined the 1974 classic book to take in British climbing's developments across the subsequent decades, while remaining faithful to the vision of Ken Wilson's original. Hard Rock would add to any guidebooks shelf or ostentatious coffee table display. 

The grade spread covers VS to E4, meaning there should be routes of interest to, and within the ability of, most keen trad climbers. The routes offered represent the best of what Britain has to offer, from the mountains of Scotland and Wales to the sea cliffs of Cornwall. 

Many of the original essays that accompanied the route descriptions are still included, along with new contributions from contemporary trad exemplars.
